Hardin Walker
Catcher | Free Agents
Hitting In past seasons, Walker has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Walker is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Walker always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He is easy prey for any righthander who can throw a slider off the outside corner. Walker handles lefthanders who bring the ball into his quick hands much better.
Baserunning & Defense He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical. Minor league scouts have accused Walker of being a liability in the field. Runners take advantage of his weak arm.
2010 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Walker to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
