Jim Williams
Catcher | Free Agents
Hitting This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. But Jim's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. You can expect Jim Williams to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.
Baserunning & Defense His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal. His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His arm is accurate enough.
2010 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Williams to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
