Todd Williams
Relief Pitcher | Free Agents
Pitching He tends to work slowly when in a jam, which just makes his problems worse by lulling his fielders to sleep. Never a hard thrower, Williams now has games when he can't hit 85 MPH with his fastball. He frequently leaves fastballs up in the strike zone, where they get pounded. When you throw a curveball, it better break. Hanging curves equal earned runs in this league, you just can't get away with them. Unfortunately, Williams's curveball tends to hang. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting Williams does an average job of holding runners. Williams is nothing special in the field. Williams is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Williams has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Free Agents have been known to use Williams as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2010 Outlook But if you ask me, I'll pass on Williams.
