He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever.

Baserunning & Defense
Willis isn't a fluid third baseman, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough. Willis isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out.

2010 Outlook
I can't say I know what The Free Agents were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best.

Willis never has been a patient hitter. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever.

Baserunning & Defense
He doesn't get good jumps on grounders, but his routes are fine and his hands aren't bad. He's also one of the better throwing third basemen in the league. Willis is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat.
