Hitting
Woodard never has been a patient hitter. But Joe's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. The Free Agents do tend to sit Woodard when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball. You can expect Joe Woodard to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.
Baserunning & Defense
When you play Woodard you're not putting him in for his glove. His arm is accurate enough. He has below-average speed and is stiff on the basepath. He's poor on a straight steal but has some success at reading pitchers and working a delayed steal.
2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Woodard to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
