Jeff Abbott
Left Fielder | Pittsburgh Pirates

Hitting
Abbott is an excellent mistake hitter who belts middle-of-the-plate fastballs or hanging breaking balls. Abbott always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Abbott tends to zone in on the power-alleys. Most of his outfield hits are to left and right center.

Baserunning & Defense
Though he managed to record his share of assists, his arm is just average. Abbott is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat.

2010 Outlook
AA isn't the right place for Abbott. Expect the Pittsburgh Pirates to send him down for some minor retooling.
