Bill Allard
Relief Pitcher | Free Agents

Pitching
He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. Allard also has a decent changeup. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Allard, and that's saying a lot. When you throw a curveball, it better break. Hanging curves equal earned runs in this league, you just can't get away with them. Unfortunately, Allard's curveball tends to hang. In his first taste of the majors, he has kept lefthanders in check but wasn't as effective against righties.

Defense & Hitting
Allard's move to first base is average. Allard is nothing special in the field. Allard is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Allard has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Free Agents have been known to use Allard as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Allard to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks. But if you ask me, I'll pass on Allard.
