Dick Archer
Shortstop | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Archer always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. It's hard to explain but Dick Archer plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Archer signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.

Baserunning & Defense
His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. He has no speed at all and runs the bases conservatively.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Archer to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
