Baker never has been a patient hitter. Baker always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The Free Agents do tend to sit Baker when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.

Baserunning & Defense
Baker is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat. Minor league scouts have accused Baker of being a liability in the field. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
I can't say I know what The Free Agents were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best.
