Brian Barber
Starting Pitcher | Cleveland Lions
Pitching Barber throws a nice sinker... The rookies never seem to know when it's coming. His slider is sharp and breaks both horizontally and vertically. Barber can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. Barber also has a decent changeup. His composure needs work. When Barber starts getting hit, he gets mad and loses concentration. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Barber has a lousy move to first, and opposing managers will run against him all day. Barber is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Barber has some pop in his swing.
2010 Outlook If Barber doesn't perform, the Cleveland Lions won't hesitate to send him down to the minors. I just don't know if The Cleveland Lions are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
