Ron Barber
Left Fielder | Boston Red Sox

Hitting
Barber has quick hands and is able to cover the entire plate. Barber usually pounds the ball into the ground to try to get the most out of his speed. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Left field, right field, center: this guy puts it all over.

Baserunning & Defense
He steals a few bases with his combination of quickness and a decent first step. Barber isn't a fluid left fielder, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
In three full big league seasons, Barber already has done more than what scouts projected when he came out of college.
