Al Bierbauer
Third Baseman | New York Mets

Hitting
He sometimes will press in clutch situations and chase fastballs up and out of the zone. Bierbauer was a line-drive hitter when he first came up, but over the last few years has become more of a true home-run hitter, lofting more high flyballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. He uses the entire field and has gap power.

Baserunning & Defense
His defense is solid but unspectacular. Bierbauer has one of the strongest arms among third basemen. Bierbauer is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat.

2010 Outlook
Bierbauer performance in AAA is making it difficult for the New York Mets to ignore him much longer. Expect his name to be on the September call-up list.
