Sam Brashear
Third Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
The book on Brashear is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Brashear always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Brashear when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.

Baserunning & Defense
Minor league scouts have accused Brashear of being a liability in the field. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. Brashear's absolutely no threat to steal and doubles must be obvious for him to chance advancing.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Brashear to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
