Hitting
In past seasons, Caufield has been a bit of a liability with men on base. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. He rarely pulls pitches, preferring to shoot line drives to right-center.

Baserunning & Defense
Caufield isn't a fluid third baseman, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough. Caufield is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat.

2010 Outlook
The Cincinnati Reds signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Caufield like a hot potato if something better comes along.
