Philip Clopton
Catcher | Anaheim Angels

Hitting
Clopton never has been a patient hitter. He sometimes will press in clutch situations and chase fastballs up and out of the zone. Clopton was a line-drive hitter when he first came up, but over the last few years has become more of a true home-run hitter, lofting more high flyballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. His strength is in the gaps.

Baserunning & Defense
His defense is solid but unspectacular. His arm is accurate enough. He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical.
