Hitting
Coscarart never has been a patient hitter. In past seasons, Coscarart has been a bit of a liability with men on base. Coscarart always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. It's hard to explain but Russ Coscarart plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Coscarart signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.

Baserunning & Defense
His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal. Minor league scouts have accused Coscarart of being a liability in the field. Russ's arm leaves a little to be a desired.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Coscarart to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
