One of Counsell's strongest assets is his performance with men in scoring position. If it's late in the game, and there are men on base, you want this guy at the plate. Craig Counsellis Mr. Clutch. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Craig Counsell to pull the ball. He struggles away from home.

His arm and range are average, and he has a tendency to get lazy with his feet. Counsell is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat.
