Jim Cross
Catcher | Free Agents

Hitting
The book on Cross is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Jim Cross to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
He has below-average speed and is stiff on the basepath. He's poor on a straight steal but has some success at reading pitchers and working a delayed steal. His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Cross to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
