Wes Cruz
First Baseman | Free Agents

Hitting
Cruz never has been a patient hitter. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. It's hard to explain but Wes Cruz plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Cruz signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.

Baserunning & Defense
Cruz isn't a fluid first baseman, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough. Cruz is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Cruz to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
