Pitching
He can hit 90 MPH but is too smart to try to get his fastball past most hitters. The one thing I must say I don't like about Deasley is how easily rattled he gets. If he makes a mistake to a hitter and the guy winds up on second or third, you can pretty much count on the guy scoring. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.

Defense & Hitting
He's reasonably quick to the plate but needs to vary his pickoff moves. Good baserunners appeared to time him last year. Deasley is nothing special in the field. Deasley is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Deasley has some pop in his swing.

2010 Outlook
The Pittsburgh Pirates signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Deasley like a hot potato if something better comes along.
