Jim Dedrick
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching The Retired or Inactive Players hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. But Dedrick, do us a favor. Stop throwing that changeup. It looks like a beachball. When you throw a curveball, it better break. Hanging curves equal earned runs in this league, you just can't get away with them. Unfortunately, Dedrick's curveball tends to hang. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting He has a fair pickoff move and isn't a particularly easy target for basestealers. Dedrick is nothing special in the field. Dedrick is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Dedrick has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Dedrick as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2010 Outlook But if you ask me, I'll pass on Dedrick.
