Arthur Dent
Relief Pitcher | Cincinnati Reds

Pitching
He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Dent also has a decent changeup. Dent also throws a screwball. He's almost as effective against righthanders as he is versus lefthanders.

Defense & Hitting
Though he lacks a good pickoff move, he checks the running game with a compact stretch delivery. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Dent is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Dent has some pop in his swing.

2010 Outlook
The Cincinnati Reds were smart, they locked Dent up to a long term contract. Dent performance in AAA is making it difficult for the Cincinnati Reds to ignore him much longer. Expect his name to be on the September call-up list. I really like what this kid brings to the table.
