Ryan Dryscoll
Starting Pitcher | Anaheim Angels
Pitching Dryscoll will give up home runs, but rarely with the game on the line. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. The Anaheim Angels hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. He tends to work slowly when in a jam, which just makes his problems worse by lulling his fielders to sleep. Sometimes I wish he'd just give up on throwing the changeup, it's like a BP ball! He traditionally fares better against lefties.
Defense & Hitting He's average in terms of controlling the running game. A shaky fielder, he's slow to react to grounders and often looks unsure on his throws to the bases. Dryscoll is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Dryscoll has some pop in his swing.
