Don Drysdale
Starting Pitcher | Houston Astros

Pitching
He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. Drysdale can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. Drysdale's fastball is a tick above average, in the 90-91 MPH range on most nights. Drysdale also has a decent changeup. He's almost as effective against righthanders as he is versus lefthanders.

Defense & Hitting
Drysdale does an average job of holding runners. Drysdale is nothing special in the field. Drysdale is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Drysdale has some pop in his swing.

2010 Outlook
The Houston Astros signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Drysdale like a hot potato if something better comes along.
