Bill Edens
Right Fielder | Free Agents

Hitting
Edens never has been a patient hitter. Edens always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. It's hard to explain but Bill Edens plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Edens signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.

Baserunning & Defense
Edens is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat. Edens plays mostly right field, where his mediocre range and throwing arm are less than ideal. He'd be better off in left.

2010 Outlook
I can't say I know what The Free Agents were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best.
