Jack Eggert
First Baseman | Houston Astros

Hitting
In past seasons, Eggert has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The Houston Astros do tend to sit Eggert when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball. Jack Eggert has made a career of putting the ball to the opposite field. That's rare in this day and age.

Baserunning & Defense
His defense is solid but unspectacular. His arm is accurate enough. He has below-average speed and is stiff on the basepath. He's poor on a straight steal but has some success at reading pitchers and working a delayed steal.

2010 Outlook
AA isn't the right place for Eggert. Expect the Houston Astros to send him down for some minor retooling.
