Pitching
His curveball is solid; he throws it better than your average reliever. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.

Defense & Hitting
Foster is a reliable fielder who doesn't get rattled on defensive plays and is rarely out of fielding position. His windup, though, makes him an easy target to run on. Foster is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Foster has some pop in his swing.

Hitting
One of the nice things about Evar is that he's a real clutch hitter. If it's late in the game, and there are men on base, you want this guy at the plate. This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Foster always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him.

Baserunning & Defense
Minor league scouts have accused Foster of being a liability in the field. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par. He has no speed at all and runs the bases conservatively.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Foster to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
