Hitting
Grieve always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The Toronto Blue Jays do tend to sit Grieve when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.

Baserunning & Defense
He has the tools to play all three outfield positions. He's also one of the better throwing rightfielders in the league. Grieve doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often.
