Chris Gwynn
Left Fielder | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting Gwynn never has been a patient hitter. Let's face facts: Gwynn hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Gwynn when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball. You can expect Chris Gwynn to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.
Baserunning & Defense When you play Gwynn you're not putting him in for his glove. Runners take advantage of his weak arm. He has below-average speed and is stiff on the basepath. He's poor on a straight steal but has some success at reading pitchers and working a delayed steal.
