Ed Hamm
First Baseman | Free Agents

Hitting
One of the nice things about Ed is that he's a real clutch hitter. This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Hamm always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. The Free Agents do tend to sit Hamm when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball. It's hard to explain but Ed Hamm plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Hamm signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.

Baserunning & Defense
Hamm is an intelligent baserunner with average speed, but he's not a basestealing threat. When you play Hamm you're not putting him in for his glove. Ed's arm leaves a little to be a desired.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Hamm to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
