Hank Hammond
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Pitching
He can get groundballs when he needs them in a jam. If you're going in to face Hammond, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Hammond, and that's saying a lot. He frequently leaves fastballs up in the strike zone, where they get pounded. But Hammond, do us a favor. Stop throwing that changeup. It looks like a beachball. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties.

Defense & Hitting
Hammond is nothing special in the field. He doesn't hold runners very close, which gives his catcher a bit of a workout. Hammond is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Hammond has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Hammond as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2010 Outlook
But if you ask me, I'll pass on Hammond.
