Rick Heismann
Center Fielder | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
In past seasons, Heismann has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Heismann is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Heismann always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. It's hard to explain but Rick Heismann plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Heismann signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.

Baserunning & Defense
Heismann has below-average speed and is a poor baserunner. Minor league scouts have accused Heismann of being a liability in the field. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Heismann to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
