This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. You can expect Art Herbert to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
Minor league scouts have accused Herbert of being a liability in the field. Runners take advantage of his weak arm. Herbert's absolutely no threat to steal and doubles must be obvious for him to chance advancing.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Herbert to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
