Art Hillegas
Third Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
In past seasons, Hillegas has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Hillegas is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. Art Hillegas has made a career of putting the ball to the opposite field. That's rare in this day and age.

Baserunning & Defense
Hillegas isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases. His glovework leaves a lot to be desired. His biggest problem in the field simply has to be his throwing arm... it's well below par.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Hillegas to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
