Hitting
The book on Hockett is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Jimmy Hockett to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
Hockett isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases. Hockett doesn't read balls well off the bat, misses cutoff men consistently and floats throws to the infield. Jimmy's arm leaves a little to be a desired.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Hockett to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
