Jon Howard
Right Fielder | Texas Rangers

Hitting
Howard quickly learned that he could drive the ball out the opposite way. That knowledge has made him a better hitter because he now uses the entire field. He has the mental discipline to handle clutch situations. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. The switch-hitting Howard has better plate coverage and more power from the left side than when he bats righthanded. He uses the entire field and has gap power.

Baserunning & Defense
Howard isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out. When you play Howard you're not putting him in for his glove. His arm is accurate enough.
