Pitching
He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. Irwin can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. Irwin's fastball is a tick above average, in the 90-91 MPH range on most nights. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.

Defense & Hitting
His pickoff move is only fair. He gets off the mound fairly quickly and his throws to first are hard. Irwin is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Irwin has some pop in his swing.

2010 Outlook
The Chicago White Sox signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Irwin like a hot potato if something better comes along.
