Pitching
When his release point drops below three-quarters, his fastball tends to hang in the strike zone. The Oakland Athletics hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties.

Defense & Hitting
He's reasonably quick to the plate but needs to vary his pickoff moves. Good baserunners appeared to time him last year. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Jennings is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Jennings has some pop in his swing.

Jennings throws a nice sinker... The rookies never seem to know when it's coming. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. The St. Louis Cardinals hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. He traditionally fares better against lefties.
