Mel Keenan
First Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. But Mel's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
Minor league scouts have accused Keenan of being a liability in the field. Mel's arm leaves a little to be a desired. He has no speed at all and runs the bases conservatively.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Keenan to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
