Kinder never has been a patient hitter. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. You can expect Dave Kinder to hit the ball to the opposite field... that's just the kind of hitter he is.

Baserunning & Defense
He has below-average speed and is stiff on the basepath. He's poor on a straight steal but has some success at reading pitchers and working a delayed steal. Kinder is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Kinder to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
