Scott Klingenbeck
Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching The Retired or Inactive Players hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. Sometimes I wish he'd just give up on throwing the changeup, it's like a BP ball! You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Klingenbeck, and that's saying a lot. He frequently leaves fastballs up in the strike zone, where they get pounded. He's almost as effective against righthanders as he is versus lefthanders.
Defense & Hitting Klingenbeck's move to first base is average. Klingenbeck is nothing special in the field. Klingenbeck is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Klingenbeck has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Klingenbeck as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2010 Outlook I just don't know if The Retired or Inactive Players are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
