Johnny Latimer
Second Baseman | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
In past seasons, Latimer has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Latimer is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Let's face facts: Latimer hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
Minor league scouts have accused Latimer of being a liability in the field. Johnny's arm leaves a little to be a desired. Latimer's absolutely no threat to steal and doubles must be obvious for him to chance advancing.

2010 Outlook
What The Retired or Inactive Players was thinking when they signed Latimer to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
