Mike LaValliere
Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Hitting
LaValliere seems to become especially focused in big situations. One thing's for sure, late in the game you're glad you have him on the field. LaValliere never has been a patient hitter. Let's face facts: LaValliere hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. One thing's for sure, Mike LaValliere is a dead-pull hitter.

Baserunning & Defense
He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical. In the past, his critics have accused LaValliere of being a liability in the field. Runners take advantage of his weak arm.

2010 Outlook
LaValliere flat-out isn't ready for this level of competition. Expect the Retired or Inactive Players to send him down promptly.
