Spaceman Lee
Starting Pitcher | Idaho Sporks
Pitching Lee's control is among the best in the game. He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. His fastball is just average, and therefore he relies heavily on placing it in different parts of the strike zone or setting it up with his screwball. Lee also throws a screwball. Lee gives up his share of home runs, but is always around the plate and doesn't give up many walks. He's almost as effective against righthanders as he is versus lefthanders.
Defense & Hitting Runners do not get a good jump on Lee... many have noted that his motion is difficult to pick up. Lee is nothing special in the field. Lee is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Lee has some pop in his swing.
2010 Outlook The Idaho Sporks were smart, they locked Lee up to a long term contract. Lee has impressed at the A-ball level. Look for the Idaho Sporks to give him a shot in Double or Triple A before the year is up. I really like what this kid brings to the table.
