Hitting
Linares never has been a patient hitter. Linares always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him.

Baserunning & Defense
His speed is below average and he's not a threat to steal. Minor league scouts have accused Linares of being a liability in the field. Runners take advantage of his weak arm.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Linares to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
