Mike Maddux
Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players

Pitching
Maddux can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. Maddux also has a decent changeup. Steals sometimes unnerve Maddux, who isn't blessed with extraordinary self-confidence. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Maddux, and that's saying a lot. He frequently leaves fastballs up in the strike zone, where they get pounded. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders.

Defense & Hitting
Maddux is nothing special in the field. He doesn't hold runners very close, which gives his catcher a bit of a workout. Maddux is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Maddux has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Maddux as a pinch-runner on occasion.

2010 Outlook
If Maddux doesn't perform, the Retired or Inactive Players won't hesitate to send him down to the minors. I just don't know if The Retired or Inactive Players are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
