Mike Myers
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. He's trying to develop a sinker, but as of yet it's been well below par. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties.
Defense & Hitting His move to first isn't very good, but his delivery is fairly quick and he isn't overly vulnerable to the stolen base. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Myers is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Myers has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Myers as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2010 Outlook The Retired or Inactive Players signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Myers like a hot potato if something better comes along.
