Jim Neagle
Center Fielder | Free Agents

Hitting
In past seasons, Neagle has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Neagle is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Neagle always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. It's hard to explain but Jim Neagle plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Neagle signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.

Baserunning & Defense
Neagle doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a couple bases each season without getting caught very often. Minor league scouts have accused Neagle of being a liability in the field. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Neagle to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
