Lance Nix
Right Fielder | Montreal Expos

Hitting
With his ability to hit for average and his sound batting eye, he makes a good No. 2 hitter. Nix usually pounds the ball into the ground to try to get the most out of his speed. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him. Nix uses the entire field and typically produces a couple of hitting streaks of 10 or more games during a season.

Baserunning & Defense
Nix is an above-average runner, but lacks the first-step explosiveness needed to become a basestealing threat. Nix isn't a fluid right fielder, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
The Montreal Expos were smart, they locked Nix up to a long term contract. Nix has impressed at the A-ball level. Look for the Montreal Expos to give him a shot in Double or Triple A before the year is up.
