Woody Oliva
Shortstop | Free Agents

Hitting
One thing's for sure, late in the game you're glad you have him on the field. One of the nice things about Woody is that he's a real clutch hitter. If it's late in the game, and there are men on base, you want this guy at the plate. Oliva never has been a patient hitter. Oliva always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.

Baserunning & Defense
Oliva isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out. When you play Oliva you're not putting him in for his glove. His arm is accurate enough.

2010 Outlook
I can't say I know what The Free Agents were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best.
